Sri Sri George Washington Roy was one of the Most favourite disciples of Thakur Bigyanananda though his Mantra Guru was Thakur Jogananda Brahmachary.

He was younger son of Sri Sri Ma Karunamayee. He was born on 23rd June, 1930 (Monday) and passed away on Friday, 2nd February, 1973. He was an Engineer. In the early part of the year 1954, he met his Master Sri Bigyanananda Maharaj. After meeting his master, he knew that the object of life was to find out the Truth. So, he did not waste his time and put his all efforts in finding the Truth. After realizing “Truth”, he wanted to spread the name of the holy incarnation all over the world, for peace.

He took the task of building the holy temple of Thakur Sri Sri Bigyanananda Maharaj in 1955 and initiated the mission for spreading the name of Sri Sri Thakur Bigyanananada – the source of permanent peace and happiness. In this task another disciple Paresh (Sri Suhash Bose) fully participated with all sincerity and devotion since the beginning.

Sri Bigyanananda Maharaj adored Sri Washington Roy as his son and Sri Sri Lenin Roy mentioned in his book “The Object of Life” him as “A great son of a great father”.
